The green screen is an emulated terminal, like the ones older inventory systems still run on. The modern view shows the same stock. Move something in one and the other follows.
Try this

In the modern view, open Main Warehouse and move 3 V-belts to Van.

In the terminal, type a move: location, item, 1 for Move, destination, quantity, Y.

Try to move more than is on hand: 99 work gloves from Main Warehouse.
